Our Services
At VRwoodtrim, we offer different services under one roof, ensuring you don’t have to hire different companies for different carpentry solutions. This offers convenience, cost benefits, and ensures seamless interior décor. Our services include:
Crown Molding Installation
Crown molding is a cost-effective way of enhancing the character and style of the interior. It is usually installed at the intersection of the wall and the ceiling. Other applications are above doors, windows, and cabinets. Crown moulding helps hide cracks and other irregularities, it covers pot light wiring, among other benefits.
At VRwoodtrim, we usually use Medium-Density fibreboard (MDF) for crown moulding. MDF is versatile, cheaper compared to wood, it gives a high-quality look, and is easy to install. We use different profiles ranging from Symmetrical to Tuscany and from Manhattan to Georgian. The crown moulding comes in different sizes from 3” to 9” inches. The color for MDF crown molding is usually a white primer finish. We believe in customized crown moulding as this ensures there is a perfect match in terms of dimensions and the rest of your home décor. We do all the cutting outdoors to prevent dust at your home and we will do a thorough cleanup after the project is over.
Accent Walls Design
We install accent walls, also called feature or decorative walls. These walls transform dull spaces into extraordinary ones. Accent walls are either interior or exterior and they come in different materials, shades, colors, and designs. We usually use wood and MDF (wainscoting) for our accent walls. Accent walls are meant to be decorative, but they can have functional uses such as protecting the underlying wall.
Wood accent walls are available in different finishes such as metallic, gold, cement textured, cement plaster, laminate, designer mirror, marble powder, sable sand effect, and other finishes. MDF is an increasingly popular option for accent walls. MDF is versatile, it helps insulate rooms, it is easy to cut resulting in smooth edges with no splits, it does not warp, it comes in large sizes, and is less expensive compared to wood. Our design team will help you pick an accent wall design that best works with your home décor.
Finish Carpentry
Carpentry is broadly categorized into rough and finish carpentry. At VRwoodtrim, we provide finish carpentry services to clients in the Greater Toronto Area. Finish carpentry, as the term suggests, is all about making final touches once the framer has finished his work.
Finish carpentry involves the installation and design of door and window casing, baseboards, custom closets, wall units, and libraries, wainscoting, paneling, arch openings, fireplaces & bars, cabinets & shelving, and stair banisters, among others.
Once you give us your requirements and budget in the consultative session, our work begins with design. We will take measurements and then our team of qualified craftsmen will do the installation and the finishing. We use a specialized woodworking layout, measuring, and cutting tools for this. Hiring us saves you money since you will not need to invest in these specialized tools as well as the necessary equipment and protective gear.
Waffle Ceiling Installation
One of our services at VRwoodtrim is coffered ceilings. A coffered ceiling consists of recessed panels that are arranged in a grid, adding depth to flat and vaulted ceilings. One of the most popular types of coffered ceilings is waffle ceilings.
Waffle ceilings have repeating arrangements that resemble the shape of a waffle, hence the name. These ceilings come in different shapes such as square, rectangle, diamond, and octagon. This ceiling finish works with different types of home décor. The typical depth of waffle ceilings is 8 inches. You should only go for a waffle ceiling if your wall is at least nine feet in height.
The most popular materials for waffle ceilings are plaster, wood, and MDF, with plaster panels going well with modern spaces and stained woods complementing rustic designs well. Once we take the measurements, the manufacturing process begins at our shop. The ceilings will come in boxes and you will need between 5 and 12 boxes, depending on the size of the room.
Interior Door Installation
We install new interior doors and replace old or damaged interior doors at VRwoodtrim. We work with different types of doors from French doors to barn doors and everything in between. Our doors are made from different materials. From wood to glass and from fiberglass to steel. Our service includes door design.
Other than interior door installation, we also do interior door trims. Door trims are placed around the door opening, usually for decorative reasons. They are made up of 2 pieces at the side and one on top.
Another of our interior door installation services is increasing the height of interior doors. This is often necessitated by a change in interior décor. This service requires a lot of precision to avoid damage to the door and the wall. We will take down the old door, tear down the wall, rebuild the wall in the new dimensions, install the new casing, and then hang the new door.
Interior Trim Installation
Interior trim installation adds character and sophistication to your home and helps define the architectural style of the room. Interior trim is the millwork or moulding that is used to frame walls, windows, doors, floors, and ceilings.
Our team has vast experience in baseboard trim installation. This is a trim covering the gap between the floor and the wall and it has both decorative and functional uses, including hiding imperfections and protecting the wall from furniture legs. We use different materials for baseboard trims, including MDF, hardwood, and pine.
For the doors and windows, we install door and window casing. Door casings are less wide but thicker than baseboard trim and they help hide the gap between the wall and the door. Window trims surround the window frame and they add to the elegance of the interior. They are installed before the baseboard trim installation. We do complete trims, low-profile trims, high-profile trims, traditional trims, and modern trims, among others.
